Frequently Asked Questions

Is Master's Commission just for those who desire to enter full-time ministry?

Absolutely not, although many who desire and will eventually go into full-time ministry, will use Master's as an equipping tool.  Master's Commission is simply for those who desire to live above the average and are tired of mediocrity in their Christian walk.  No matter what students choose to do after Masters, this time set aside for God, we believe, will have instilled in them Godly precepts for living, values and patterns that will continue to steer them for the rest of their lives. "Purpose both sets a course after determining the end and encourages the traveler along the way..." Myles Munroe states.  Master's will help each student find their destiny in God and prepare them for the journey ahead, wherever it may lead.

Where will I stay?

Students will stay in designated Master's Commission housing with 4-6 students sharing under the resident supervision of a house parents.  housing will be strictly segregated- girls with girls and guys with guy.  The housing fee will cover food, utilities and rent, but students will be expected to keep house hold expenses in the "norm."

How much of home can I bring?

Students are allowed to bring sentimental items from home to make their lodgings as comfortable and homely as possible, however remember the Golden Rule: "Less is more." - consider your roommates also and that they will need space, too.  We do encourage students also to bring their musical instruments, hat tricks and party pieces to Master's Commission, as we desired to see each individual use their gifts and talents for the Kingdom!

What about food/meals?

Each household will receive a weekly food allowance to cover the cost of stocking each residence with the necessary foodstuffs.  If a student has a desire for more unusual types of food or wishes to buy in "extra goodies", they are welcome to purchase these are their own expense.  We will do our best to ensure that all students cooperate with each other's personal preferences and are flexible.  Most breakfasts and dinners will be eaten at home, whereas most lunches will be eaten here and church or "on location", wherever the M.C. team happen to be.  Meals on tour and/or ministry trips will be covered by Master's, also.

How do you spend a typical day in M.C.?

Each morning will begin with an hour of corporate prayer and worship. The remainder of the morning will be spent in organised Bible school training, scripture memorisation, assignment work on given reports, special ministry and times of equipping with guest speakers, etc. Weekly tests will be given on scriptures learned and assignments will be collected on their due dates. Most afternoons and evenings will be spent in ministry training and much hands-on ministry experience. Please see a list of Master’s classroom activities and ministries also featured on this site. Servanthood is also a large part of the training here at Master’s, so all schedules are subject to change if there is a need, and we feel we can meet it! Students will learn flexibility, as it is often the doing of the less glamourous tasks that builds the most character!

When does the programme start and end?

The programme is roughly 10 months long, beginning in early September and ending mid June, inclusive of our missions trip. Holiday times at Christmas will also be roughly 2 weeks.

If i feel Master's is God's will for my life, what's the next step?

Will every applicant to Master's be accepted?

Unfortunately, not everyone who applies to the Masters programme will be accepted, however, Masters Commission staff and leadership will prayerfully consider each application in an effort to determine whether or not this programme is right for the applicant. Master’s Commission is not open to just anyone, but to those who desire to excel as “Followers of Christ”. All decisions will be made after considering reference details, phone interviews, character assessments, etc., resulting in a fair and unbiased conclusion.
